Day Update 8-15-05 / Tomorrow Plans

Today went pretty well, I'd say. I was relatively tired throughout the whole day, but I got 11 PM - 7 AM of sleep, so I am fully rested. After school today, though, I did not take a nap, so I am going to bed right after I get home from community band tonight.

I woke up at 7:02 AM, thinking, "oh freak--I need to rush!" Because you see, if I wake up at 7 AM, I need to leave home by around 7:45 AM, so 45 minutes tends to not be enough, with eating breakfast, taking a shower, brushing my teeth, and getting ready. If I wake up at 6:30 AM, I'm usually fine. To start off my morning best, I like to do some LJ, check email, reply to comments, and get breakfast done with before 7 AM, so I can take my shower with leisure, as well as getting ready. Unfortunately, that didn't necessarily happen today.

We weren't late, don't worry, but it was just a little more rushed that I would have expected. I got my textbook from my locker in the band room and went to World History. The substitute, Mr. Modica, was there again today. We did the class objective sheet while the announcements were on, and got our assignment once they were finished. We had to read two sections (a lot of reading), and do a double-sided assignment on it: not fun. As we were doing our work, he'd randomly start saying something like, "The government isn't doing their job nowadays..." and he'd start questioning us saying, "do you work for criminal justice?" and weird stuff like that.

I ignored him thinking, "What a wackball..." He then stated to everyone in general, "I'm not just talking to some of you, I'm talking to all of you, so I need your attention up here." I'm thinking, "Double-you tee eff [wtf], mate? We're trying to work!" It was just hilarious some of the places he was trying to go. He's a good teacher and all, but he is so distracting. I did a great job on the incredibly boring assignment, and thankfully the class ended fast.

I went to the bandroom to get my textbooks, and headed to Spanish class. Upon heading there, though, I ran into Derek. He had an "Eagles" shirt on, so obviously he got it at the concert, which he said was a lot of fun. He asked me how my weekend was, I said it was good, blah blah, so we made small talk. He wanted me to buy him three slices of pizza at lunch, so I had that order to attend to. In class, we did some work out of the textbook today, a worksheet, a group activity, and some "fly-swatter"--which is a game that you choose whichever vocab word is correct (when verbally said), from the overhead. It was a really fun class today, and we have no homework, so t'is le awesome.

I went to the cafeteria, ordered 3 slices of pizza (for Derek), and a rice bowl for me. Total was $7.75. I went back to the band room and met Derek on the way there, gave him his pizza, and he headed off to H. I ate my food in the band room and then played piano for about ten minutes in the choir room. Once lunch ended, I walked to the E wing for English class.

At the beginning of the class, we were all rowdy and talkative. Michael, the big guy who was in Les Miz two years ago, did this hilarious impersonation of the substitute we had on Friday--that really got us going. We had this huge, almost 1/2-hour long discussion of how Brentwood's going, what the story we'll be reading is about, all that good junk. We read this story called--ah, I don't even remember the name, it was so boring. I kind of phased out throughout most of it. We got three worksheets for homework, as well as some questions on the story.

In Jazz Band we warmed up with some scales, did "Ain't Misbehavin'"--Kaite's song--and then a new one, which was pretty fun. Time flew by, and I even worked on my English some. After school I helped Jake Nunn out with one of the solos he's going to have in this one song we're doing. I got all my books ready from my locker, and around 3:15 PM walked to the choir room. Iniside there was Michelle Biggs and Leah Buckley, soon joined by Stephen Foster. I played piano until my mom got there, which was a lot of fun. I got home around 3:40 PM, and was surprisingly productive.

I fixed the Internet for the computers, cuz it sucks sometimes. I checked my email, did a lot of soccer refereeing stuff (I have about 87 games lined up for the rest of the season to referee), and some other stuff. I started a lot of laundry, sorted some, talked to Derek and Dimitri on the phone, and watched some TV while eating dinner, which happened to be some cake and a tuna sandwich.

...That leads me to the time stamp of this entry, which is when I originally started writing this entry, but it was 6:30 PM by then, so we had to leave. However, I am back now, at 10:09 PM. I am incredibly exhausted right now, and have a mild headache, but no worries. Since I skipped it in my 'day update,' community band went really well. Sharaya wasn't there, but Keith was, so the percussion was fine. I organized the entire area, so it looks really nice, and Derek even helped out with a lot of songs in the end, so we got to hang out a lot. I felt very relaxed by the end of the night, so that's good.

Tomorrow will be a relatively long day. I'm setting my alarm for 6:30 AM, planning on being productive in the morning, and getting to all my classes on time. I'll bring some lunch to school, have Special K in the morning, and bring two waters (I just bought a 24-pack at Safeway tonight). I'll probably go home after school, but then at 7:15 PM I need to get ready for my cross-country run; I won't get back from that until about 10:00 PM, in which I'll be exhausted. I really hope Derek can go tomorrow night--if so, that'd make things awesome. He probably can, so I shouldn't worry. I'll need to get everything done, like laundry/homework/LJ/et cetra before I leave for the run. Nonetheless, things are good, and I'll be fine. Take my poll if you haven't already.
